coffee details
Tanzania has long history of producing exceptional coffees, but often has less visibility in the specialty market. Situated further south than it's well-recognized coffee producing neighbors in the East African Great Lakes region, it has similarly rich soil, altitude, and an abundance of commonly grown high quality varieties. Founded under the guidance of Technoserve, the cooperative established coffee washing station in 2007 and has since grown to process a high volume of high scoring coffees from the local community. The Ilomba cooperative is located in Southern Tanzania near Lake Rukwa. Over 300 small-holder farmers contribute to Ilomba annually. This years harvest has a soft, blackcurrant sweetness with an oolong tea-like finish.
