Established in 1966, Kangunu is one of Eastern Kenya's most well loved stations within the specialty coffee industry. The factory was built upon the slopes of sprawling Mt. Kenya, with roughly 2,600 farmers contributing cherry from surrounding villages. Meticulous and quality driven processing practices ensure that any coffee leaving this cooperative is of the highest quality possible. All cherry is carefully pre-sorted before processing, then undergoes the traditional Kenyan double fermentation method, contributing to the complex flavors and classically acidic profile we love about Kenyan coffee.
