The Karambi washing station is located in the Nyamasheke region of Rwanda, home to a robust market in speciality coffee. The station buys ripe coffee cherry from surrounding producers and supports a staff committed to producing consistently excellent coffees. Though the station also uses other processing methods, we loved the dense sweetness and subtle warm spice profile of this washed coffee.

      smooth

I had been drinking an Ethiopian coffee from another roaster which helped to highlight the fruit and smooth finish of the Karambi Station beans when I tried the first brew.

The experience of drinking Karambi Station is akin to sipping on a well-balanced glass of Beaujolais and less like the typical morning jolt of caffeine.

Congrats to the growers and the roasters on developing such a refined bean.

      One of my favorites

For me, this is one of the better coffee's I've had. Easy to drink, super smooth, light but flavorful, dips into the realm of tea almost. I've brewed with a Chemex. Not a coffee to spoil with milk and sugar. Would definitely recommend trying this if you like lighter flavors and aren't looking for a bold blend.

      OK--not great

I would prefer something with more robust flavor or more variation in flavor. This coffee felt "plain". If you think of coffee taste like wine taste--it could stand quietly beside a highly flavored meal or dessert...as my morning cup, I did not like it especially.
