It’s only been a few days, but I’m thrilled with the Aiden coffee maker so far. The amount of customizability is daunting, I’m not gonna lie, but that doesn’t come at the expense of a pretty simple and easily repeatable daily coffee making process.
I will say, I’m someone who has weighed my beans and my water for years, so aspects of the Aiden process (the “guided brew” tells you how much water (in ml) and how much ground coffee (in g) to use) were already part of my daily grind. Except with the Aiden, as long as the (removable and easily filled) water tank is kept full, or at least fuller than the water that your guided brew recipe will use, there’s no need to measure / weigh the water - the Aiden takes care of that for you. So that’s a nice perk for me with this new machine.
And then when you’re ready to drill down into the machine’s available customizations, well, give yourself some time - it’s a helluva rabbit hole, one that I’ve barely poked my head into thus far, but one that I’m excited to explore, especially for the Aiden’s one-cup/small pot brewing, where I think I’m gonna love playing around with the machine’s ability to customize bloom time, bloom water temperature, and volume and even temperature subsequent pours (or “pulses” in Aiden-speak).
So, yeah, this long-time coffee nerd loves what I’m getting from the Aiden’s brews so far, and is excited to try tweaking settings and trying to extract max flavor and body out of the coffees I’m brewing.
